The internet, expanding consumer tastes, and digital download services like iTunes have contributed to the development of a new industry landscape. Despite becoming a casualty to the Major Labels, Napster delivered a blow to the music industry as a whole that still reverberates today. As a result, the new consumer has a greater awareness of what they may like and what is out there. No longer are we tied to traditional radio services, traditional networks, and video channels like Mtv. Youtube, twitter, myspace, facebook, and countless others have evened the playing field.
While still important, labels are no longer the gatekeepers that they once were. It has become possible for artists to seize control of their careers and their art like never before.
Our Releases:
At present, Wishfire Records serves as the record label for the Cruxshadows current and upcoming releases (as well as a partial imprint for releases in the future done in association with any other labels.)
Back catalog titles may also be released through Wishfire as those titles become available to the band.
The name of the record label is taken from the name given to the character of the Angel throughout the albums of the Cruxshadows, including the album titles simply Wishfire.
